Sounds Like
The Bright Size Gypsies possess the rare combination of virtuoso musicianship, skilful composition, inspired arrangements and a fabulous stage presence.
Originally inspired by the music of Django Reinhardt and Stephane Grappelli, The Bright Size Gypsies perform an infectious blend of quirky original material, standard gypsy jazz repertoire and a healthy portion of masterfully re-worked pop classics by artists such as Michael Jackson, the Beatles and Mozart. Their take on Billie Jean, featuring Joelle Barker on drums, is rapidly becoming something of an urban legend and is not to be missed!
Since forming in 2005 the band has played with such international artists as Natty Bo (Ska Cubano) and Tchavolo Schmitt (featured on ‘Dark Eyes’). The Bright Size Gypsies have astounded sell-out audiences at numerous venues including Symphony Hall Foyer (2005) Birmingham and Shambala Festival (2007/08), where many viewed them as the highlight of the festival.
“The Bright Size Gypsies turned a half-filled Bedouin Stage into a huge dancing and singing crowd screaming for more!”
Shambala Festival ‘08
