Brilliant White Lies began experimenting with mind-altering music in 2007, when the line-up consisted of Brian Hendricks (guitar), Craig Wolford (drums), and Darren Schlack (vocals). Several practice sessions yielded about ten songs that were very promising and in need of more instrumentation.
But even with all the creative fervor, the band was still without a bassist and therefore lacked a full sound. The three-piece band soon felt relief in their restless hearts when Shoeless Joe joined the group in early 2008. The new bass player added creative posture & input, including an original song of his own that the band later adapted to their overall sound. Then there were four.
But the four-piece band still had restless hearts. It seemed as if the music’s full potential wasn’t being realized. Carrie Graham soon joined the band, rounding out the sound with her keyboards and vocals. She immediately contributed creatively, which included one of her own compositions.
Brilliant White Lies is currently playing out at night clubs and other events, developing their live sound and performance. A first album is also in the works.
