Magic is the main thing. Skateboarding, filming & editing, web design, game creation(whenever I get around to it, still learning), I'd have to say breakdancing is an interest( but not something I can really do as of yet), I've been into parkour(freestyle running) for awhile, and that's always fun, usually when taking a break from skating or if there isn't a good place to skate at the time. I also like to collect various things, mainly knives and weapons...swords and whatnot.
I have had a double bass(bass fiddle) but stopped playing it after a year...I had a drum set, stopped playing it and kind of gave it away. And now I have guitar... so we will see what happens with it. Really I just love to do the magic. And once i get really into something like I did at first with skateboarding, magic and computers, I don't like to give it up and risk loosing progress in that respective art. Those we're kind of my first things to really get interested in, and I hope to keep them up, so I guess I feel I don't have as much time for the other stuff?

Hey everyone, my name is Grant. I'm a magician. I have been doing magic for around 3-4 years, and have loved every minute of it. I see it as an art, and I am always trying to perfect, and improve in it. I hope I continue to get better over the years, and I plan on sticking with it until I die. I'm one that doesn't drop hobbies after I've put so much time into it, its just not what I do.
I suppose the main reward from magic for me, is to see the expressions, and reactions of the people I perform for. Its so much fun doing the magic, that I hope they have as much fun while watching, and that is my goal...to bring the fun. I think out of so many entertainment hobbies, magic has to take the cake as the best. It can bring almost anyone back to a childlike state of wonder and amazement, and can help people to forget the stresses of the world for even just a moment, and drop into a different world, where anything can happen. That...can make it all worthwhile.
I do have hobbies besides magic, and although I'm not AS passionate for them as I am for the art of illusion, they still take a place in my life.
First would have to be skateboarding. I love it, and I really don't know exactly why. I suppose its another independent hobby, no one tells you what to do. Theres a lot of freedom in it, and I like the determination it takes to advance. You fall so many times, and it takes a will power to keep getting right back up, and going again...and still keep your humor through it all. I love the feeling of landing a trick smoothly, and having it be the 30th try, and that's the first land....that, is what makes it all worth it. You may still hurt in the morning, but you better have had fun doing it.
My other interests would have to lie in computers. This fascination was started way back when, when I was much younger. I have since loved technology in general, but computers and the internet just have so much opportunity, and potential, that I just can't wait to see what they will come up with next. I have gotten into game programming, animation, movie editing and filming since then, and I love it all. Its the power to create with such ease, and the individual way each person creates it. Every director or animator creates the final product differently, and this is what makes the movies interesting to watch. When you play a game, you sure hope its different then the last one.
This hobby or interest also can be about entertaining. I love to create a video that people will want to watch, and get a laugh out of it. Or create one to get some information across, and have the audience actually understand and comprehend it. I like designing websites for the same reason, its a really dynamic and creative way to get things across.
I guess another thing with computers and technology, is that being from this new generation, we have to grow up with it, and I figure there is not reason to be ignorant of it. This is the future at the moment. I like solving problems, and people are always having problems with their newfangled technical shit. You know how much money tech support people charge for just coming out to your house? lol, just because you couldn't be bothered to learn to use the computer yourself?
So I just like the new technology, and try to learn as much as I can about it, so when people wanna go wining about their shit not working, I can help, and if my shit stops working, I might can fix it. And really, thats what this new stuff is...shit. It may be cool, and amazing what they come up with, but its still cheap shit made in china...and is actually part of an indirect effort to crash the whole economy, but oh well...heh.
I love to read, always getting some new info in, and I like to write as well. I'd have to say that was always my favorite classes in school, writing and reading. Science is cool too.
I've tried various instruments. I played double bass in orchestra for a year, should have stayed in it. Then I took drum lessons, had a drum set...and I stopped that and gave the set away. Should have kept at the lessons and kept my drums. I currently have a guitar, and trying to learn to play it, so hopefully ill keep at it and learn to play. Its just magic and such take up so much time, and skateboarding when I get to.
Im also very into anything paranormal or psychic. This might kinda go with being a magician, I'm always looking for inspiration into my work, I just like to know things, and the so called paranormal really interests me. I, like everyone have had "experiences" that I would like to attribute to the paranormal, but just can't yet. You can't say i've never tried any of it though, i've read so many books, and have tried psychokinesis, astral projection, ouija board(which in my experience works I think), and even clairvoyance. I haven't seen hard proof of it yet, but hope someday I will. Until then Im just stuck between beliefs... I believe...in the creation of ones own reality, your perception is your reality, and it will always be like that until we change....
