Bio
Deliveryboy can only be described as a highly employable talent on the Canadian music scene. Multi-instrumentalist, producer, engineer, arranger, composer, performer, Live PA DJ and van owner, Deliveryboy offers up an arsenal of experience and a basement full of gear. Perhaps more notable than the many hats of Deliveryboy is his unique musical perspective and his love of new and emerging sounds. Although he has been playing music all his life, he began to take it seriously during the East Coast Canadian indie-rock surge of the mid-nineties and the rise of electronica shortly after. Heavily influenced by both of these styles, Deliveryboy never felt the need to choose between them. The result is a man who wields guitars, samplers, drums and drum machines with the conviction of a seasoned rocker and the spirit of fun and experimentation that these styles of music were founded on. Over the years, Deliveryboy has played with many different bands and performers, toured extensively throughout Canada and expanded his musical palette considerably. In 2003 Canadian producer Andrew McPherson asked him to join his global fusion project Eccodek which has gone on to release three records, receive two Canadian Music awards and a recent Juno nomination that included a live collaboration with Great Big Sea and Hawksley Workman. Eccodek has been featured at many Canadian festivals including Guelph's Hillside festival, Calgary Folk, Vancouver International Jazz and has also performed at the 2008 Canada Day festivities on Parliament Hill. In addition to his work with Eccodek, Deliveryboy has released two solo EP's of his own brand of electronica, licensed music for the CBC broadcast of the Sidney Olympics, appeared on numerous album releases and, along with McPherson, was recently commissioned by the city of Toronto to compose a live modern electronica score for Fritz Lang's classic silent film Metropolis. The two continue to perform the project at various Canadian film festivals. Past appearances have included the Durham Fabulous Festival of Fringe and the Guelph International festival of Moving Media. Currently Deliveryboy is deep underground in the lab working on new sounds, a new record and a new live act all to be unleashed in the fall of 2009. ........ .. ..!.. ........
