Music, Movies (esp Chinese, Japanese and Korean) - I love foreign movies because they aren't money-oriented like Hollywood ones are. I LOVE ANIME and, thanks to Quickflix, I am well and truly getting my fix of anime series that I never thought I would see! Computers - yes, I love them, yes that probably makes me a geek, no, I don't care!
I love playing video games but I have to admit it's a bit of closet obsession as most people I know don't play ANY games! :) I do, however, also like board games and even old fashioned "go outside" games!
Hmmm, I also love to read - historical fiction (loving Juliet Marillier at the moment), scifi, thought provoking books like "The Celestine Prophecy". I'm interested in politics and the state of the world and will solve the world's problems till the cows come home! I am a spiritual person as well as an existentialist (ask and the universe will explain!) and I have enormous respect for other religions and, having studied some of them, believe that the basic tenets of most religions are designed to make the world a better place, it's just that we humans screw up the message sometimes.
I am also rather passionate about ....... FROGS! In my house I have frog pictures/tapestries/mobiles/ornaments EVERYwhere! And cats too, but mostly frogs:) I especially love green ones. Did you know that frogs are barometers for the health of your garden and/or environment? If you have frogs in your yard, you're doing something right!:)

I've loved music since I was a baby, grew up on a diet of Neil Diamond and just never stopped. You will NEVER hear me say, "music nowadays is crap, back in MY day....." cause even tho I love some of my old 80s stuff (New Romantic and PUNK), I love the new stuff more! I'm a great person to have over for a party cause I have a huge collection!:)

| | Movies | "Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter ...... and Spring" is a Chinese movie I've recently seen on DVD and it was glorious. I love movies with action such as Kill Bill, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. And if it has NINJAs in it, well I'm in heaven!:) Ninjas rule!
A short list of movies I love: Matrix, Lord of the Rings, Harry Potter, Labyrinth, Legend, The Princess Bride, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Star Trek, anything by Tim Burton especially Edward Scissorhands, fairy tales (what can I say, I dream of being a princess!).

Well there's not much ON at the moment is there! When it's on I love LOST and Survivor, I also liked Prisonbreak at times. I watch Medium, Chaser's, DR WHO (huge fan *l*), Glasshouse (RIP :( ) and have just started watching Jericho.
I used to love to hate BigBrother, but after the last series I just HATE it because of the abject stupidity of the show and the people. Oh, I quite like Australian Idol too and am a recent convert to "So You Think You Can Dance" after the dreamy geeky Benji Schwimmer took out the title ....... mmmmm.

"The Diary of Malcolm X", "The Traveller", "Celestine Prophecy" and other weird titles such as "Lonely Hearts of the Cosmos" which is about cosmology! :) I'm also a fan of a historical fiction, such as those written by Juliet Mariller, an Aussie author who writes BEAUTIFULLY about ancient UK. I'm FINISHED reading the Bridei Chronicles!:) I recently read the international bestseller "The Bride Stripped Bare" which I found rather disturbing and raw.
To be boringly honest, MOST of the time I read kid's stories, kid's homework, kid's projects, reams of staff meeting notes and articles in the newspaper that knock teachers ...... no, there are none praising us! Dis is TRUE!
I'd like to WRITE a book - a children's storybook perhaps, I have some ideas for boring educational books that might help teachers. My friend and I want to write a book, make a million and retire to a life of leisure - not too much to ask is it?:) | | Heroes | 
It's kinda hard to say but people I admire are Gandhi, Dalai Llama, Kofi Annan, Nelson Mandela, Bono, Oprah, Jesus and anyone who tries to make the world a better place just by being friendly, funny, sweet, INTELLIGENT, kind, thoughtful and forgiving.
Update - I admire mums and dads who say no to their kids because they love them! "No, darling, I am not sending you to schoolies to get raped, drugged and alcohol poisoning." <<<< it's a Queensland thing, kinda like the US's Spring Break in Florida.
I admire friends who are loyal and say what they think but at the same time are unfailingly positive ....... that's the SECRET!:)

Hey, well thanks for looking at my profile firstly and I hope you decide to contact me for a chat! I am a teacher in Brisbane and although it is very demanding, it is also great fun. I laugh a lot with my kids and I really think that laughing is the best thing in the world! I'm a mad keen movie buff, especially art house and foreign film. Who I'd like to meet:
I like talking to a wide range of people because I think we all have so many interesting points of view. I would like to meet people who aren't going to stereotype because of age, location or gender! While I am here mainly to meet new friends of both genders, I would love to chat to shy, geeky guys who like games, music, movies and long walks along a virtual beach (no sand in your undies that way:D) (jk:))
