Welcome to the MySpace presence of www.bristolbands.com. We are a FREE resource for the music community in the Bristol/Bath area of the UK.
Since April 2007 BristolBands.com has been promoting FREE ENTRY Showcase nights at The Fleece. As well as established acts, we're making sure the new up and coming talent gets a chance to play. One year on, and we have arranged 60 showcase gigs, with almost 180 different bands playing and at least 15 debut performances.
In 2008 we officially moved into promotions, so as well as nights at The Fleece, you will see us appearing at venues across the region with events including touring and visiting bands. It is our remit to ensure there is at least one local act on every bill! Exciting times!
The site layout of www.bristolbands.com contains artist information, photos and link to the band website(s), plus an upcoming gig list, venue information and a map. We also provide information on Artist Support features like promoters, studios, labels, etc and information on how to get tickets.
The info is linked, so clicking on a gig will show who else is on the bill with the music genre (so you get a feel for what type of night to expect): clicking on a band detail will give you a short profile, plus website links and show their gigs, and clicking on a venue will tell you a bit about it and show all the gigs at the venue....well you get the idea.
We're developing the site constantly. We have streaming audio online (the MySpace player plus one on bristolbands.com, which contains loads of music and which you can have running in the background while you browse).
We also have a Forum where anyone can sign up to post gigs, band details, musicians wanted, etc etc. There's even a rant section where you can let off some steam about something that irritates the shit out of you!
As we move into Summer 2008, we have over 3600 bands on the database (nearly 1500 of which are 'local') and over 450 venues.
We've added to the team for our gig reviews. We're also improving the quality of the photos and venturing into video. We've also produced our first podcast, which got such a fantastic response that it has encouraged us to create some more.
We need the support of the bands, venues and fans to help us keep up to date with what is going on, so we can then post the info on the site.
PLEASE NOTE: Artists will only be accepted as Bristolbands MySpace Friends if they are located in the BS and BA postcode areas of the UK, if we are promoting their gigs or we really, really REALLY like them...a lot.

Once again, very many thanks for having us down at the gig last night, we really enjoyed ourselves! We'd love to do something for you again in near future. Do let us know your plans and keep in touch...
Alright fellas, just a quick update that we have 5 tracks on our myspace now. Just finished recording them, please have a listen and tell us what you think.
MelonFarmers drummer is available for working with guitar based bands in the BRISTOL / BATH / CHIPPENHAM / SWINDON areas.....
Ideally rock based, but will consider other styles. Also would like to join an existing band with material, not really interested in forming a band.....
I have own transport, excellent kit and much, much gig circuit exp.
Please do not contact here.....go to: www. myspace.
Hey guys! Sorry to take so long to get back to you. Not logged on all through May. Change of plans, so not at the cafe now, but partner in a recording studio instead - Soundskitz (check the myspace in my top friends). Was good to meet you in December. Hopefully see you at 5 unsigned when it re-launches soon.
