From an early age, singers/songwriters Brit and Alex Smith gravitated toward music. Whether singing along to Motown with family, putting on impromptu concerts with friends, or taking the stage with their Dad and his band, they always had a tendency to steal the show.
It was only natural that Brit and Alex would end up in the spotlight.
The uniquely individual twin sisters grew up sharing their love of music and finding inspiration in the form of Jimi Hendrix, Prince, Mariah Carey and Michael Jackson.
While in their teens, the pair was signed to a Ford modeling contract. After being featured in a wildly successful and long-running ad campaign, the sisters decided to pursue their musical passion full time.
Since then, they've written and recorded with the top producers in the industry, including Dallas Austin (Gwen Stefani, Pink, Madonna) and Christopher "Tricky" Stewart (Beyonce, Rihanna, Mary J. Blige), who says Brit and Alex "bring the entire package to the table; great songwriting, strong vocals and explosive live performance".
And while they can often finish each other's sentences, Brit and Alex have two very distinct voices, and their unique personalities, tastes and styles can be heard in their songs.
Their music has been featured on the soundtrack to the movie "Step Up 2: The Streets", as well as hit shows like "The Hills" and "Eastenders".
