Bill Lee was christened "Broadway" back in 1988, when the then-afternoon air personality for New York's HOT97 packed up and moved to studios on Broadway. Since that time, "Broadway" Bill Lee has maintained a high profile, anchoring San Francisco's Morning Zoo for five year at KMEL, syndicating to more than one hundred and forty five markets with his Direct Hits countdown show, garnering sixty two percent of Japan's radio listeners with his Funky Friday Nights; all before returning to New York in 1996 to launch 103.5 KTU.
This veteran of more than thirty years on-air radio experiance, is captain of the air-staff at The Beat of New York, winner and several-times nominated as Billboard's Radio Personality of The Year, and has twice won Best Afternoon Show at the New York Air Awards.
Even casual listeners of KTU, know "Broadway" spends his afternoons from 2 to 6pm rhyming to the beat or goofing around on the phones with some of the craziest people who have ever called a radio station trying to win an easy contest or just commenting on "what's up" with a unique New York flavor. He's an avid Yankee fan who doesn't miss too many games, but he does take time out to lend his support to local charities like; The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The March of Dimes, The Manhatten Society for Multiple Sclerosis and several others.
Broadway Bill Lee is the proud father of three boys and two girls and is married to New York radio personality Beth Bacall. Ask any disc jockey from coast to coast and they'll tell you Bill has been a mentor to some of the best in the business. With five kids and all that influence we're sure that "Broadway's style of radio" will continue for the rest of the century.
