"A fresh face was Canadian Broderick Chow, who took the title of coolest comic of the evening... confident and intelligent..." - Sarah Radford, Newbury Today.
I'm cool! This is the validation I've so desperately sought! Take that, bullies, it's in writing now!
For those of you receiving another friend request from me, it's cause I've made the switch to this neato comedy Myspace. Thanks.
I run a monthly comedy gig called Justice League of Comedy with Angus Lindsay, who's a very silly goose. It's all about superheroes and stuff and there are prizes, like freaky Japanese things for your lunchbox that will ensure you have no friends in elementary school. Next one: 23 July 2007, at The WASHINGTON in Belsize Park. Come on down to see me, Caroline Clifford, Josie Long, Cal Saville, Ida Gronlund, Andrew Wallace and MC Gus.
AKIRA CALIFORNIA: Post-Apocalyptic Stand-up Comedy
2019. A boy named Maddox Jolie is in Tokyo, lost in a wasteland of karaoke and lonely people. To get home, he'll need to find his real parents, fall in love, and save the world. All in a day's work! Comedian Broderick Chow fuses stand-up, storytelling and multimedia in a post-apocalyptic picaresque.
Akira California is a very funny (and slightly sad) hour of stand-up comedy about being lost, and the possibility of connecting with other people and maybe coming back home. Maddox's story is one of superpowers, dorkiness, feeling out-of-place at parties, and wanting to kiss beautiful people you pass on the street.
