I am currently making my third feature film called "S.S.D.D: Same Shit Different Day" which is being made on no money. Just finished filming over January and now in post production. Check out the latest update which is a making of:
Why not also check out this interview on Resonance FM where I talk cinema and politics.
This is me painted by portrait artist Stephen Earl Rogers for the front cover of the "TEN4" Magazine by FilmFour in 2007 as the new upcoming talent. He got the bags under my eyes just right!
Music
When not making feature films I head up the newly founded video department of YNR (Young N Restless) record label.
Any upcoming filmmakers looking to make music videos then please message me. We have a number of DVD projects in the pipeline also and will be updating the YNR Youtube Channel with exclusive video virals.
This is new:
I can also be sometimes found making Music Videos (alongside my cohort Paco Sweetman co-directing, co-editing and co-producing) under the guise of The Beta Brothers.
The artists we have made music videos for includes Skinnyman, Jehst, Taskforce, Braintax, Micall Parknsun, Blind Alphabetz, Benjamin Zephaniah, Theoretical Girl and Saturday Night In Frankfurt.
We are currently selling a Benjamin Zephaniah DVD. Check out our myspace page by clicking HERE
This is me on "London Tonight" in 2006. My Mum and Dad were really proud:
This Youtube Player is all four episodes of the "Hood Newz" that I shot in 2005 with lead actor Dezert Eagle from "The Plague"(2004) on the grimey streets of South London. They were screened on Channel 4. Episode 2 on Tony Blair is my favourite!
Books
I have acquired the film rights to Ian Bone's autobiography "Bash The Rich: True Life Confessions Of An Anarchist In The UK" and have been spending a fair bit of time with the "most dangerous man in Britain" while writing the first draft.
I have set up a special blog dedicated to chronicling Bash The Rich. Check it out:
It is currently archiving a lot of my research as I adapt the book. This will hopefully be my fourth feature film and I'm hoping to get it funded seeing as even The Independent newspaper mentionned the fact I have the rights:
Check out Ian Bones BLOG (It's very good!) and go buy a copy of the book from HERE

About me: Hello.
My name is Greg Hall and I am a writer and director of British independent feature films.
Here I am:
And here I am again in some fancy press cuttings:
I made my debut feature "The Plague" (2004) at the age of 22 for £3,500 out of pure frustration and boredom with mainstream culture.
This is what some people thought of it:
It picked up some awards notably the Katrin Cartlidge Foundation Prize from British Director Mike Leigh, screened internationally at festivals and finally a UK cinematic release in 2006.
Here are some photos of fond memories:
It showed on BBC 2 as part of the British Film Forever season during the Summer of 2007. Which was a huge honour. Supposedly it had 300,000 views. Which is a lot of people! It can be found on dvd if you know where to look...
I premiered my second feature for the Manchester International Festival, the people behind that Monkey Opera with Damon Albarn. It is called "Kapital"(2007) and I made it aged 25.
It was a co-commission with renowned composer Steve Martland. While it was low budget I was given complete creative freedom, and wanted to do something very different.
It was sold out. And this is what the Metro thought:
Some people loved it and to be fair some people hated it. But I guess that is better than sitting on the fence..?

So thats me.
I am currently making my third feature film called "S.S.D.D: Same Shit Different Day" on absolutely fuck all money. It will be a very contemporary cutting edge drama featuring actors from my previous films. The whole experience from improvising, shooting, editing and distributing will be blogged and captured in a video diary showing you how to - or possibly how not to - make a feature film on a no-budget.
I love making films. Cinema can convey messages and meaning to a lot of people, touching lives and making us question our preconceptions. Which is a beautiful notion - sharing ideas. Don't get me wrong. I don't think Films can change the World. Only People and Action can. So what is the use of towing the line? Making the same old generic crap that "sold" before. I hate the media. It is full of a lot of vacuous and shallow people. And yet I am part of it... It is difficult to maintain a sense of integrity and creativity but I'm going to give it a good old go. And hopefully the films I make will spread ideas and some people will ACT upon those ideas. Fuck making advertisements and mediocre entertainment (Four Weddings and Another Notting Hill anyone?!?!?). Modern life is so fucking boring... No one feels the need to say anything anymore unless it is to sell you a deodorant or pair of jeans. Lets burn this shit house to the ground and build something beautiful out of the ashes.
And I really am broke. It's not bullshit. Despite the nice things you read above it is a real struggle. So all support and dvd sales (Or any offer of paid work!?!) are honestly greatly appreciated.
KEEP CULTURE INDEPENDENT!
Who I'd like to meet: Disobedient people. Throughout history obedient people always dress up in uniforms and commit genocides. At least with disobedient people you know where you stand.
