Welcome, scruffy lo-fi psych pop kids of all ages!
We are Broke Down Turntable and we like our Indie made out of pipe cleaners and empty washing up liquid bottles - cheap, cheerful, and resourceful out of necessity. Oh yes, and a little bit weird out of choice.
Our mission is to undermine the foul temple of Mammon that is corporate indie. I was going to do that bit in capitals, but it's rude to shout. They took twenty years to build it up, but we'll get into the foyer, stick up a few flyers and leg it before Security know we're even there.
We have a Morris Minor. The Swell Maps tape is on.
Let's go!
This lovely, lovely video was made by Graeme Swinton (www.studio.gs) and features the track 'Clean White Sheets' taken from Broke Down Turntable's debut release 'Ask A Policeman' due out on SVC Records in November 2008.
by the way, our version of "putting the fountain to sleep" is somewhere on a dead computer downstairs waiting to be finished someday. not that this has anything to do with that tight-ass belt or anything.
