It retails for £5.99 (CD) and £4.50 (Digital Download).
Coming soon will be a brand new EP on Brazil’s Bolinhas Records. Broken Down Lorry are currently recording a new studio album and will continue to make much of their music available for free download via MySpace, LastFM and the Broken Down Lorry website.
Here is some useles information gathered by and about Broken Down Lorry:
1. Broken Down Lorry’s name was inspired by the legendary DJ John Peel. He used to listen to traffic reports on his way home from London and wonder if it was always the same Broken Down Lorry causing the traffic jams.
2. Broken Down Lorry started off as an accident. Johny Nocash recorded a song for a tribute album. It never got released. However, the name stuck and attached itself to future recordings.
3. The first single released by Broken Down Lorry was called ‘A Friend In Elvis’. Elvis can be a good friend but he is rubbish at returning phone calls or buying a round.
4. Broken Down Lorry’s members all have made up names: Johny Nocash, Jacques Cachecarte and Jean Regrette-Rien. This is because really they are all called John. Guest singer Enid Crowshott made her name up too. She wasn’t called John, however.
5. Broken Down Lorry like to give away their music for free. This is because they enjoy making music just as much as they enjoy listening to the music of others. However, they believe that working people work very hard for their wages, and should be able to share in Broken Down Lorry’s enjoyment. Sometimes Broken Down Lorry leave CDs on trains and buses. Sometimes though they have to pay the bills, so some of their music is also available for purchase. They hope you understand.
6. Broken Down Lorry are quite shy. They rarely play live, and they rehearse less frequently.
7. Broken Down Lorry could be the very definition of rock’n’roll. If rock’n’roll is the rebellion of a generation against normality and predictability, then Broken Down Lorry rebel against the normality and predictability of the music industry by never touring, giving their music away and drinking lots of tea.
8. Broken Down Lorry recorded a song called ‘The Death Of A Pigeon’. In fact, they recorded it twice. The song is not about pigeons at all, however: it is about Johny Nocash and his colleagues being faced with the sack.
9. Broken Down Lorry’s latest album is called ‘No More Bridges Left To Burn’. The title is a line from their song ‘Riot in Primark’. Primark is a shop which sells cheap clothes. If ever there was riot in Primark, it would be difficult to tell the difference from an ordinary day in the shop.
10. Broken Down Lorry make their own videos. One of them shows features of the 2007 ‘Alderney Week’ on the tiny island of Alderney, close to north west France. Another video includes shots of some clothes pegs and a curtain.
11. Broken Down Lorry’s second album was entitled ‘Can’t Rock Won’t Rock’. Johny Nocash can’t dance either. Luckily Jacques Cachecarte proves to be quite nimble on the dance floor.
12. Broken Down Lorry are not interested in world domination. They are too lazy, and too busy enjoying doing other things like reading books, eating toast with jam and trying to write the perfect popsong.
