Broken Element began to form in early 2006. Their hard work earned them a coveted spot on the 2006 Flipside Festival lineup alongside national acts Sugarcult, Cartel, Motion City Soundtrack, Reliant K, & more. After acquiring a new drummer, they feverishly began writing some new tunes and headed into the studio that same year to begin work on their first official EP. With assorted musical backgrounds and a plethora of different influences that range from Incubus, Helmet, Rush, to Heart, these four kids from the metro area combined to form a unique blend of alternative rock all their own. During their time as a band they certainly created quite a buzz for themselves in the DC/MD/VA music scene and were even featured on 98 Rock's "Noise in the Basement" show hosted by Matt Davis. According to one review, they “set the stage aflame with some amazing songs featuring sick female vocals and stirring melodies” and "really know how to let loose a ballad with tenderness and bust a hard rock tune with bite”. With band members pursuing different life paths, Broken Element unfortunately came to a close in mid-2007

Our All-Stars are also hitting the road again this month, fresh off their victory against the Dutchland Derby Rollers. This time, they are heading south to take on the Dominion Derby Girls April 26. Hometown fans welcome!

The DC Rollergirls again have back-to-back home and travel bouts in March.
On Saturday, March 14, home teams Scare Force One and DC DemonCats will face eachother for the second time this season. The 2-1 DemonCats were victorious the last time around, but 1-1 Scare Force is itching for another win. The Cherry Blossom Bombshells will take on the Boardwalk Brawlers of Shore Points Roller Derby in an expo game.
On Saturday, March 21, the DC All-Stars head to Pennsylvania again, this time to take on the Dutchland Derby Rollers in Lancaster.
