[ray of youth]..........
broken flight began in 2003, with chris and pete just writing and playing songs together when they found time to. the first four songs written for this project went into their debut release, the 'ray of youth' ep. recorded by mark lang, this 4 track ep received some good reviews around melbourne: "four fragile, heartbreakingly simple songs...", inpress magazine. "... each track provides a gentle fragility that is tempered by a slightly sombre tone and wispy delivery akin to a fading melancholic memory", oz music project..........
[on wings, under waves]..........
for the release of their debut ep, lance and nic joined to fill out the sound live, leading the four of them to then write and record their debut album. retreating to 'the cannery', a ramshackle house in the hills of warburton, just out of melbourne with recording artist nathan collins, the band recorded 10 tracks over a few very cold weekends, with some special guests including nathan collins on drums. the result was 'on wings, under waves', exploring the bands instrumental side, as well as their desire for crafting beautiful melodies, telling stories of life between the city and the sea. the album was released in january 2006, now available in polyester records in melbourne, australia, or by mail order through paypal..........
[plans]..........
broken flight are currently recording songs for a project to be released some time soon-ish! first track her eyes (unmastered) up to listen to now.
Once again I have a favour to ask of everyone out there in the MySpace world, and I’m sorry because I know these things can get a bit annoying, but every vote counts, and I am happy to return the favour if you need me to vote or rate anything of yours, so… if you get the chance could you please rate my new song “Million Miles Away” on Triple J Unearthed?

As a band, it’s our job to make new music and then post annoying and impersonal msgs on our friend’s pages telling them we’ve done so.
We thought it proper to let you know we’re doing our job. We’d like to invite you to listen to our debut single Pixelation. You can have a cheeky sample on our Myspace page, or download, rate or review the FULL VERSION single and two bonus tracks here.
We'd love to hear what you think!
Much love, the Leads. x

I am back in Melbourne on Wednesday night for a very special
performance with the immortal Victoria Williams. We are playing The
Empress Hotel in Fitzroy. It starts at 8:00pm. So come on down and
spend an evening with us before Victoria bids Australia a reluctant
fare-the-well and heads back home to the beautiful expanse of the
Californian desert …
