....................................................................................... Formed in 1990, the BROKEN HEROES are a New Jersey based band. Once complete, they hit the ground running. Playing many shows and shutting down most of those shows. The aggression that you expect from an oi!-punk band was prominant in BROKEN HEROES. It was a time when punk was still only cool to those that really loved it. (Not the whole entire friggin commercial world!) "The Pipeline", in Newark New Jersey, was their regular venue with other Jersey bands like Niblick Henbane, Those Unknown, The Wretched Ones, Headwound and many more. Each of these bands, as did the fans, created a scene that kept BROKEN HEROES alive. In 1993, they recorded the "Jump For Oi!" 7 inch on Headache records. Soon followed by, the "Media Blowout" 7 inch, on Headache Records. A few years and compilations later, the band started to implode. Other New Jersey bands suck as Vibram-94, Blank-77, The Bristles, and The Tombstone Brawlers have all acquired members of Broken Heroes at some point in time.)
When they re-formed, the BROKEN HEROES felt totally recharged.(Like releasing a 4 lb. shit that you've been holding all day!) They currently play live gigs and are re-recording the old songs with their current lineup. The new songs written in the last few years, have more energy and feeling than when these guys were 15 years younger. Although they may seem a bit older and wiser, that only means they are more strategic when ruining your day. They have a full length c.d.(I TOLD YOU ONCE!) on Street Anthem Records. Just like their songs from the old days, BROKEN HEROES'recent songs are based on real events and situations. They don't write generic "beat down" songs. They don't try to act like they are from another country. If they want to play a certain style they do it. If they want to sing about something ridiculous, they do it. If they want to write another song about an over-done subject, they do it. the BROKEN HEROES love their fans, but don't give a fuck what you think!
With This Current lineup, BROKEN HEROES are related to some other notable bands.
