'My Master, what are all those people/ Who, having sepulture within those tombs/ Make themselves audible by doleful sighs?'
"It was all very primitive, and if we were in the middle of a take at two o'clock in the morning and there was a thunderstorm and lots of lightning, we'd have power failure sometimes. We'd sit around in that dingy basement, talking by candlelight until the power came back again. The whole idea of doing an album like that these days would be laughable." -Mick Taylor
Shaky
Broken Nobles were conceived in a London bar on Halloween night, 2008, by Conor Kiley and Shaky Jakes. Their current band (Holy Ghost Revival) was crumbling, they'd just missed seeing Hanoi Rocks and needed a reason to keep the faith. They settled on the name Broken Nobles that night. On the nights HGR weren't playing, the two sketched out songs in their freezing council flat.
Following their repatriation, Conor and Jakes teamed up with ex-HGR/Emeralds bassman Andy 'Dee' MacKinnon and Wildild-lifers Andrea Grave + Mackwell Jisphet Dissett to breathe life into the current fleshy form of Broken Nobles. Citing no genres or influences (save for the list of degenerate 'artists' in the column to the left) we've been letting our guns 'n' guitars decide our 'sound.'
Two recording sessions in a haunted house on Vashon Island spawned our sole release, 'Mushropium,' available only on cassette in keeping with our underground FTW kultur.

"Holy Ghost Revival's frontman Conor Kiley and bandmate Shaky Jakes Bayley have magically incarnated from HGR's pissed-off, drinks-spilled, disco-garage rock mess to a much different, reined-in incarnation with the slightly more dignified Broken Nobles. The songs are longer than one minute now, and even emit a glow of warm tenderness...maybe it was all the back and forth trips from Seattle to London that wore down Kiley and Bayley's spiny antics, but the essence of Bro Nobs' badass kicking and thrashing show remains the same." -Wendy Gilmartin, LA Weekly
