Influences	Broken Roots was formed in the fall of 2006 by Jimmy Sheehan and Adam Lee-Hawkins. Starting as an all acoustic band, the two of them worked on an 11 song album titled "The Roots". Wanting to incorporate more into their music the both of them started looking for the other missing pieces. In the early spring of 2008 Broken Roots found their drummer Nick Fones; who added a new intensity to the music as well as the band. The summer came quick and so did bass player Andrew Spear. Andrew brought the funk into to the band as well as his great ear for solid sound and mixing! Currently the band is working on the new album titled "New Life" and are hoping for a release some time during the summer of 2009. Scratch tracks of all the new progress as well as completed new songs will be posted ASAP! Any input and or feedback is appreciated! If you or someone you know is interested in setting up a show with Broken Roots feel free to shoot us an e-mail or comment and something will be booked ASAP. Music is Life! Lets get back to our roots!

BROKEN ROOTS is the story of a Korean adoptee lost between two cultures and desperately struggling to belong. David is no ordinary adoptee. Raised by Caucasian parents and burdened with severe medical problems, he embarks on an unforgettable journey to Korea -- an exotic land he had long forgotten. It is a compelling and emotional story of hope, family and self-discovery as David uncovers his mysterious past and finds his Korean roots. Two-year old Jong Hoon left Korea to join his new Canadian family in Ottawa as David Ricketts. Teresa and Ray had such high hopes for their beautiful and bright adopted Korean son. When he turned 8, David was diagnosed with Tourettes. A few years later, the doctors said he also had Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and Bi-Polar Disorder. David's parents watched in horror as their happy, energetic child became depressed, angry, and self-destructive.
