Brokenspace started in 2000 as a solo-project of Yukio who played in some bands in the 1990s. Their music is based on his recording home-demo. After some member changes, Koyo and You joined the band in 2002 and they started to play in music clubs in Tokyo.
Their show was only once every two months, however, gradually, their fans have been increasing. Although they released a compilation album “Sympathy” with Skybeaver in 2003, they still played few gigs. So some enthusiastic fans had worried about them.
Finally, they released their long-awaited first album “BROKENSPACE” in 2006, which they are very proud of. These were sold in many record shops in Japan and their interviews were in some magazines, so it was not only guitar-pop fans, but also other music fans who often listened to them. The members were influenced by that and changed to play more in clubs. They had a tour in Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka, Utsunomiya and Mito. The largest audience was at the final show in Shimokitazawa. It was a most wonderful performance for the audience.
At the end of September, they played their own gig, “We need direction Vol.2” with Beeezwax from Norway. The show was a great success.
On 1st November, “BROKENSPACE” was distributed to the world on i-tunes.
But suddenly, they broke up in September 2007
