Bio
I was born in Sollentuna a bit north of Stockholm, Sweden 1981. We got a piano from dads work by the time I was about six years old. I straight away started playing around with it and try to figure it out. At the age of seven my parents realized that some lessons probably would be needed for me to develop some skills on the instrument. Since most piano teachers in our neighborhood was teaching classical piano, that's the genre were I started my musical career. For many years onwards I studied Mozart, Chopin, Schubert, Liszt, Rachmaninov and others.... By the age of sixteen I started studying more jazzy and bluesy music and other genres. I started playing in several bands, which was an amazing feeling comparing to all years of playing solo classical piano music. Through my years in school I studied jazz music and improvisation in Sweden and Norway at following schools; Rytmus Stockholm Music Conservatory, Bollnas school of Music, Pitea Music College and Trondheim Music Conservatory. At 2005 by the time I had finished my many years of music studies I felt an amazingly growing interest in the Hammond Organ. By that time I also had a lot of problems with my back from practicing and playing too much piano. Thanks to the fact that I could sit higher and straighter with an organ, it was also inspiring for that matter. I made up my mind and bought myself a Hammond and started practicing full time. It was all a very refreshing experience, and I it is so amazing how much you can work on the sound of an organ. Luckily my back also very much appreciated the change of tool for my musical creating. That was until the moving of the Leslie between gigs became an issue though. I've despite that made up my mind to keep working as an organist and I see myself firstly as an Organ player, but also a pianist and a keyboard player. I have now worked as a musician professionally during the last 10 years and have performed at festivals and venues all over Europe. For example I've played at Stockholm Jazz festival, Trondheim Jazzfestival, Stockholm Concert Hall, The Nobel Party, at Jazz Clubs and various venues in France, Monaco, Italy, Switzerland, Russia, Austria, Sweden, Norway, UK just to mention a few... I am now living in Chamonix, France since a few years and I work with different bands and perform around Europe... Why Chamonix of all places...?? well, I love skiing and mountains almost as much as I love music... Guitar, Bjorn Jansson - Tenor Saxophone, Erik Edlund - Drums. Why Bronkenstein??? After "googling" at the internet now quite long time ago ago, I found out that there is a pianoplayer from Germany named Erik Brinkman with the same spelling as me. Partly for that reason, but also to honor my late father I came to the conclusion that Bronkenstein would be a funny and unique name (it was also daddys nickname in school).
