I cannot stand Granada Television's, "You've Been Framed" I have complained to that programme for years about the way children are exploited. (You know the way it is? Need a few bob? Don't worry! Just drop the baby on it's head and send the clip to Granada Television. They'll give you two hundred and fifty quid. Honest!) My complaints eventually brought about a meeting with myself,the programme producer and a member of the NSPCC and was broadcasted on Channel Four's Right To Reply. When I enquired why I didn't see animals being hurt (ie. cat's tails being jammed in the door like children's hands) I was informed that a member of the RSPCA inspected every animal clip before it went on air to make sure there was no cruelty involved. Nobody checked the children's clips because nobody cared. I am happy to say that two weeks after that meeting the producer of "You've Been Framed" rang me to say (jokingly)I had cost them a lot of money, that after the meeting Granada Television had decided to employ an NSPCC Inspector to check the children's clips each week. So folks, if at first you don't succeed try again and again ..and again..

I was born in Liverpool, the third eldest of seven children. I got kicked out of school at fifteen for being a bad influence on the class. I questioned and rebelled against everything.
Soon after I left school I began working with children in reseidential care and I loved it, especially children with severe learning disabilities.
Today I am mum to three grown up children. I lived in the West of Ireland for eleven years and home schooled my two youngest, Patrick and Anna. Marie, the eldest, still lives at home. She has severe learning difficulties and cerebal palsy.(See blog)
