During that era of ongoing religious persecution, a Catholic priest wrote the carol as a ‘primer-of-belief’ song for young Catholics. It has two levels of meaning: the surface meaning plus a hidden meaning known only to members of their church. Thoughts for the New Year.



 -The partridge in a pear tree was Jesus Christ.

-Two turtle doves were the Old and New Testaments.

-Three French hens stood for faith, hope and love.

-The four calling birds were the four gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.

-The five golden rings recalled the Torah or Law, the first five books of the Old Testament.

-The six geese a-laying stood for the Six days of Creation.

-Seven swans a-swimming represented the seven stated gifts of the Holy Spirit--Prophesy, Serving, Teaching,  Exhortation, Contribution, Leadership, and Mercy.

-The eight maids a-milking were the eight beatitudes.

-Nine ladies dancing were the nine stated fruits of the Holy Spirit--Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness,  Faithfulness,  Gentleness, and Self Control.

-The ten lords a-leaping were the ten commandments.

-The eleven pipers piping stood for the eleven faithful disciples.

-The twelve drummers drumming symbolized the twelve points of belief in the Apostles' Creed.

Dear Child of the Might ONE joint thru life thru JESUS! May GOD increase your blessing in your life and all your friends be like the good soil and you be like the seed that will grow into your plans and mature in to great success in all you do, may you be just like the tree that grows on good soil. That started as the seed be position in good soil so that nothing should hinder your plans in life. Have a great new in the LORD and as you step into the new year embrace it knowing that you can count on JESUS to inspire you and may our GOD continue to bless you thru out the seasons so that you may be a good example like the that tree that produced fruits successfully thru out you life, and so that you may stand for ever and not be moved and may continue to be an example and stand up on the hill and let your examples shine out to the world ~ Mat: 5:14
