Brooke Aved and the Assassins was formed with two of my most favorite Austin friends, Matt Bayuk (whom has played everything from lead guitar to drums in this project), and Charles Avelon (an amazing bassist!). I have teamed up with Stephen Miller an amazingly talented Singer/ Songwriter. I am making my first attempt to co-write, and so far the results are great! Stephen has a great ear, and is very easy to work with. We've finished three songs, and are hard at work on our fourth. Stephen is also Producing my first full length album, due to be released in Winter 2009. This album is unlike anything you've heard from me before!

Sounds Like
People frequently compare me to Joni Mitchell, and Jewel. I like to think I take after my idols, Radiohead, Sarah McLachlan, Sheryl Crow, and Tori Amos
Seven years ago, Brooke picked up a guitar, taught herself to play, and soon began writing her own songs. An astute observer of life, Brooke explores life situations, creating lyrics that delve deeply into transition, romance, heartbreak, healing, and forgiveness. Combined with haunting melodies, her poetic lyrics create unforgettable songs.
Brooke performed regularly in California, at North Bay nightclubs, where her vocals, style, and songwriting garner comparisons to such far ranging stars as Joni Mitchell, Sheryl Crow, and Sarah McLachlan. Loyal fans call her Napa Valley's songbird. Brooke performed at The Aloha Festival, a benefit concert organized by Peace through Music, staged in Ventura to supplement school music programs. She has also performed in benefits to support victims of domestic violence.
Brooke moved to Austin Texas in 2005, to persue her passion in a musically active city. In 2008, her band, "Brooke Aved and the Assassins." toured Northern California where they played to packed houses. The Assassins also enjoyed their radio debut! Upon returning to Texas, the Assassins played six shows in four days durring the SXSW festival. Now, Brooke is taking a break from playing out while focusing on recording her first full length album, due to be released in Winter 2009.
