We always have some of our favorite tunes playing during Late Night at the Library. (The fourth Friday of every month from 6-9.)
Movies
In AniManga Club we love watching all kinds of anime, and during our Young Adult Movie Night we check out the latest releases. Let us know if there's any anime or other movies you'd like to see!
Television
Mostly we use those for movies, anime, and XBox games. Actually, we usually use a projector so you can see it on the big screen!
Books
Where do we begin?
You can search through some of our favorites at LibraryThing, or look for stuff on the library's catalog. Check out our MySpace blog and the BFYA library website to find out about the latest books, movies, and manga!
The Brookfield Free Public Library was founded in 1913 as a result of the efforts of the Brookfield Women's Club.
The library facility has changed in recent years to keep up with the rapid development of technology. In 1997 we offered the Internet to patrons for the first time. In 2004 we installed a wireless access point so patrons could bring in their own laptops or devices and get on the Internet in the library.
What's Happening at the Library Now?
Here at our physical library space we offer all kinds of books from non-fiction books about landing on the moon to fiction tales of men who build monsters and all that there is in between. (At least all that we can fit on our shelves!) But, if we don't have it we can get it for you - so feel free to ask.
For our BFYAs (Brookfield Young Adults) we offer an AniManga Club, Young Adult Movie Night, Late Night at the Library, and Rock On. Our new fall program for young adults is It's Bizarre..., a monthly session of food, crafts, and weirdness.
Looking for a summer read? I just found out my latest novel, How NOT to Be Popular, has been nominated as a 2009 Best Book for Young Adults! Yay! Hope you can check it out.
