Dubbed "a fresh new face in comedy" by NYC's comedy club Stand-Up NY, Brooklin has opened for internationally recognized headliners such as Jon Reep (of NBC's Last Comic Standing) and Basile, and has been a regional finalist of America's Funniest Mom 3.
Brooklin has a diverse background in stand-up, improv, acting and sketch comedy. Her improv training is diverse and includes instruction at The Improv Olympics and national festivals including the Chicago Improv Festival and Funny Woman Festival. She has performed in improv shows in Chicago, including the critically acclaimed Tony n' Tina's Wedding, the longest-running off-Broadway show in history, where audience members actually play the roles of Tony n' Tina's family and/or friends.
After earning a BA in Theater from Cameron University, she moved to Chicago where she graduated from The Second City Conservatory, the leading improv training center in the world, also known as "The Harvard of Comedy." The school is home to such famous alumni as Gilda Radner, John Belushi, Michael Myers, Chris Farley and many others. It was during her instruction that Brooklin appeared on A&E Television's The Laugh Track, a one-hour special offering a fascinating, funny, and ultimately poignant look at one class' final semester at The Second City Training Center.
Brooklin Green founded and currently co-produces Ovary Action an all-female stand-up comedy show in Wilmington, NC. Her dynamic presence, physical and engagingly sharp observations have made her an extremely popular performer. Her humor is clean and varied, including small town, family, pregnancy, general observation/therapy and much more.
She also works with DREAMS Center for Arts Education, a non-profit organization dedicated to building character and self-esteem in young people through involvement in the arts. DREAMS was established because a group of visual and performing artists, child therapists, and concerned citizens believed that all children should have the opportunity to do what comes naturally… create! In 1996, that dream come true by developing a program that provides a creative outlet to disadvantaged youth who otherwise would not have access to an arts education. Today, DREAMS offers performing and visual arts classes to children ages 8 to 17 in 15 sites throughout the Wilmington area. Through dance, music, painting, and much more, the foundation strives to transcend cultural barriers and emphasize self-discipline and teamwork. DREAMS is a proud winner of the 2007 "Coming Up Taller Award," given annually by the President’s Committee on Arts and Humanities to the top youth-serving arts and humanities programs in the nation.
Brooklin lives in Wilmington, NC with her two small boys and a man-child.
