This Brooklyn-based bluegrass band picks up a storm with a repertoire old and new - including tight 3-part harmonies, fiery fiddle tunes, and burning banjo. Though young, the various members of this band are veteran players and have performed at such venues as Mountain Stage, The White House and your corner bar.

Tonight 9:00pm!!!!
Hello NYC friends of The Wiyos!
After a 6 month period of non-stop touring, The Wiyos will be returning to the greatest city on planet Earth to spread our gospel of vaudevillian-ragtime-jugband-blues-and-hillbilly-swing. Tell your family, friends and co-workers the good news. The Wiyos have a new record and will be playing in NYC!!!
the details: This upcoming Saturday November 3rd 2007 at 9:00 pm we will host the release party for our third CD, the self-titled "The Wiyos". This album is comprised of mostly original songs heavily informed by the early american musical idioms and recording methods (all live to analogue two-track) that have inspired us from the very start. You can help us celebrate its existence by joining us and friends at the Brooklyn Lyceum starting at 9pm. Children under 18 are welcome, even encouraged to attend. Also performing will be NYC's angriest yodeling acrobatic banjo player/dancer/songwriter/singer Curtis Eller and the great old-timey blues, swing and jugband sounds of the Second Fiddles.
This show will be even more rockin than all the others because Teddy Weber of the Hunger Mountian Boys (who played on 4 tracks of the record) will be joining us to sing, play guitar, slide on his steel guitar, and add to the general conviviality of our good times stage show. Thomas Bailey of the Frieght Hoppers and Forge Mountain diggers will also be joining us for a few tunes.
