Theatre for a New Audience is a non-profit, Off-Broadway theatre company that is building a new classical theatre, its first permanent home, in the BAM Cultural District in Fort Greene, Brooklyn. We’re breaking ground in Spring 2009 and we couldn’t be more excited!
Brooklyn’s Dreamers are hosting parties, performances, and arts events, connecting TFANA to our new neighbors – the vibrant, diverse community of Downtown Brooklyn. Any proceeds from these events directly benefit the building of our new home.
Who I'd like to meet: Here's what we're up to:
- Our 2008 Summer Bash brought eight local artists together in a Brooklyn Artists’ Gallery – paintings, sculpture, multimedia, and a live, interactive mural drawing. Plus a DJ, open bar, gourmet food and the best view in Brooklyn – the gorgeous roof deck of the Forte Condos in Fort Greene, overlooking our building site!
- During TFANA’s performance season, Brooklyn’s Dreamers are offered reduced-rate tickets to our productions, paired with exclusive events to meet and mingle with the actors and directors.
- We’re hosting joint events with neighboring arts and cultural organizations (such as MoCADA) – because we like the arts!
- Much more. As we near groundbreaking, Brooklyn’s Dreamers are picking up speed. Get involved! Being a Dreamer requires enthusiasm and creative ideas but not a lot of time.
You’ll meet fun, interesting people, help to bring great theatre to Brooklyn, be a part of the revitalization of Downtown Brooklyn and the expansion of arts and culture in New York City.
