What do you write about a band that has absolutely nothing to prove and doesn’t care what you think anyway?
Comprising of the rhythm section of the innovative punk rock band Bagster, Brother promises to up the ante with one of the tightest rhythm sections in Sydney stretching themselves technically and transporting a further innovated style in a completely different direction to that of their former namesake. If you think punk rock then you’re not quite there, if you’re imagining metal overtones and pop punk sensibilities then you’re still not getting it. This band is an amalgamation of what everyone loves about rock music – anthemic riffs, catchy choruses and intense, frenetic drumming performed in a style that accentuates honesty and originality. Somehow the group manages to compress these hectic traits into an explosive and robust energy that does not take away from the band’s combined sonic output.
Few bands these days can honestly say that it’s ‘all about the music’ but Brother hope to have their music harken back to a time when this adage was all that mattered.
