Just one - David Nilsson Thorpe: vocals, guitar + kick drum.
Influences
As I say, I've played in many bands, playing many styles and I've also been a DJ in my time so I like a lot of stuff and it's all had it's influence. With this though, I draw most of my inspiration from the likes of John Lee Hooker, Johnny Cash, Dead Kennedys (Jello era only, not now!), Tom Waits, Stevie Wonder, Richard Thompson, Bob Dylan, The Clash, Black Sabbath (with Ozzy), Iggy Pop, Velvet Underground, Sex Pistols, John Martyn, Ennio Morricone, Led Zepplin, Rage Against the Machine, Stone Roses, Happy Mondays, Cypress Hill, Rolling Stones, Blind WIllie McTell, Devandra Banhart, Stringybark McDowell, Hamell on Trial, Seasick Steve, Muddy Waters, The Beatles, The Who, BB King, Bad Brains, Alabama 3, Neil Young, The Specials, Jane's Addiction, Leadbelly, Bob Marley, Hank Williams, Woody Guthrie, Barry Dransfield... The list could go on, because theres just so much good music...
Sounds Like
a man with a plank of wood putting the world to rights. Kind of like a drinking buddy for your ears!
I can't remember how or where I thought up the name Brother Bastion but it was better than the previous name I gigged under, a lot better! I play a jumbo acoustic guitar and sing, sometimes with a kick drum by my foot. I sing songs about Love, Loss, Redemption, Tequila, Dysfunction, Cider, Drugs, Disillusion, Synthetic delusional episodes, Pain, Jail, the Gutters and the Stars, Insanity, Profanity, Sex, Death, Absolution, Adultery, Revenge, Reflection, A good bit of old fashioned Lust, and whatever else pops into the bubbling cauldron that is my brain. I played in a good few bands as a bassist before this most memorably(for me, that is) with Don't Feed The Bears, and then Fetish R.I.P. (check them out in my top friends). If you want a copy of my current LP follow the links below to any of the online stores who're selling it. If you wanna book me for a show, or just stop by to say hello then leave me a message on here, or email me at brotherbastion@hotmail.co.uk. Peace to all who pass by...!

Ella Montclare's beautifully original music is a kinda cross-over between her beloved trip-hop and something altogether more transcendental; the kinda thing you'd get if Morcheeba, Portishead and Dido pooled resources and really went for it!! This is exactly the kinda thing that radio 'jocks' are looking for, especially late at night when the mood is perhaps a little more chilled. 'Between Islands' by Ella Montclare is a kinda leftfield poppy number that could just work its magic and get up there into the charts….
“Between Islands” is the lead single…can you give us some background to the inspiration for it?_Between Islands is very personal to me, because it’s about my cultural background of English, Caribbean and Spanish. Genetically speaking I’m between islands, although I thankfully live on dry land. It’s also about the sense of yearning I think we all have for somewhere to belong.
This years festival is headlined by Billy Bragg (Friday), Seth Lakeman (Sunday) and Peatbog Faeries (Saturday) with many more top artists also performing incl the award winning The Demon Barbers.

Thanks for the add. Cool tunes -- including that cover of "Werewolf. " We just released the tribute St. Jeffrey's Day: the Songs of Jeffrey Frederick, Volume I, 17 outrageous tracks, including Snock's version of "Juanita." Produced by Dave Reisch, no longer El Segundo. Available from www. jeffreyfrederick. com and everywhere fine tunes are hawked. Anyhow, here's ol' Jeff doing the done with which Lex (yep that's him on guitar 25 years ago) leads off the tribute...
