Friends since the mid nineties, guitarist John Vasquez (ex-Geartooth, ex-Jated Cayne)and vocal frontman Nathon Jones (ex-Jated Cayne) started writing short melodies together with the idea of blending rock, funk, and R&B styles together. Backed by the soulful funk-inspired basslines of Erik Peterson (ex-Geartooth) and the jazz educated rudimentary percussion of Mike Meek (ex-Geartooth), Brother Embassy was officialy established December of 2002. After playing almost non-stop in various places around central Illinois, their first EP, "Whodafunket" was released in the summer of 2005. "Whodafunket" sold out within 4 weeks and gave the band local recognition and airplay on the local radio stations. The band is in the process of producing new material for a full album and is actively performing in the midwest music scene. Brother Embassy's flexible style has given them the opprotunity to play along with groups such as Lorenzo Goetz, I:Scintilla, Animate Objects, Triple Whip, and O.D.M.
