Sounds Like
We have been told that we have a similar sound to the Gaither Vocal Band and The Booth Brothers, but we are striving to have our own unique style of music.
Curtis sounds like Buddy Mullins (formely of the Gaither Vocal Band) Kenny Hinson of the Hinsons and Rhett Akins the country singer.
Gary sounds much like Russ Taff (Imperials and Gaither Vocal Band) with a hint of Guy Penrod (Gaither Vocal Band) and a mix of Ivan Parker and Michael Mcdonald.
Chris sounds like a mixture between Peabo Bryson, Fred Hammond and Scott Krippayne, with maybe a hint of Luther Vandross mixed in there.
For any up and coming group, each new church and concert brings the hope of making an impact on the life of every person who hears their testimony and experiences the anointing that the group brings to each service. Before the music is played or the first lyric has been sung, the dedication and commitment to follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit is always at the forefront.
Originally organized in 2004 as a quartet, Brothers Forever, under the leadership of founding group member, Curtis Hagy, recently transitioned into the trio that you hear today. The group’s second single release became their first Top 80 song in 2005. Throughout the past two years, the group, which is based in Gate City, VA, has continued to produce charting songs and have gained national attention from fans, pastors and promoters alike.
The group’s most recent recording, Sheltered, promises even greater success, as it explodes with creative excellence. This is a testament to the recordings production team and session leader Gordon Mote (Gaither Vocal Band, Brad Paisley, Rascal Flatts, Martina McBride), as well as Brothers Forever group members Hagy, and Gary Ballew. Sheltered is filled with encouraging messages of faith, hope and love, first class production and tight vocal harmonies. The recording, like each performance of Brothers Forever, is a testament to the versatility of this first class trio. It covers a variety of musical genres, without losing the message of the Gospel. One special song featured on Sheltered is 'More Than That', a powerful praise and worship song that features a full Gospel choir. This song was written by Curtis Hagy and Gary Ballew. The lyrics convey many attributes of God. He created the universe. He is the Giver of life, the Great I Am, the Alpha and Omega, The Lion and The Lamb, and yet no matter how we try to describe him he is still “More Than That.”
Brother’s Forever is creating their own niche in Christian Music. They have performed in front of thousands and yet they are just as comfortable preaching and singing in rural churches all across America. From California to New York this group has touched the hearts of many. The diversity that this group brings makes them a huge favorite with the youth and also creates a demand for them with older music lovers alike. Their ability to adapt to any setting, without compromising the gospel they present, makes Brothers Forever a favorite wherever their music is shared.
