Blac List and MajorBox Music present ‘Brown Paper Bag’, that anonymous and potentially life altering mystery, where you don’t exactly know what you’ll get, it could be a bottle of sherry with the rim smashed in for that extra danger element, or it could be the remains of a half-eaten Chiko-roll, but your tingling with excitement cos’ you know it’s gona’ be aces.
We’ve finally found what we’ve all been searching for; that body bruising, night making serenade of the up and coming indie, electro and rock n’ roll scenes of Melbourne’s notorious night life.

We’re putting on our second night, this 27th of August 2009 for no other reason than supporting the brightest new talent, who’ve crawled from the widest corners of Melbourne to the dimly lit stage at the iconic Prince of Wales Hotel, to give all you electro whores, you rock n’ roll sluts and all you back stage don’t hold back go for broke hands behind your head, sucking in the overwhelming aura of the finest young local talent… a night to remember.

THE RUBYS FIRST BIRTHDAY EXTRAVAGANZA - 3 MORE SLEEPS
One year ago, on a lonely Wednesday evening at a forgettable Collingwood pub, The Rubys played their first gig. Twelve months on, the three scrappy-looking lads have under their belts better songs, more gigs and are infecting Melbourne audiences with catchy, raw, stomp rock n roll pretty much weekly. So to mark the milestone of reaching the ripe old age of one, The Rubys are celebrating with a birthday party! With around 40 gigs down over the previous year and a wildly raucous live set, there has been a lot of jumping around and beer consumed so this Friday at the Old Bar will be no exception. Expect some wild blues-driven sets by The Volatiles and The Bellows to warm things up, and the boy’s favourite two-piece The Cheats bringing it all home. 8:30 start, $8, Party hats provided.
Hope to see you down there and we can all rock out!!
