  • Bio

Hailing from Fort Ord California, Brownstuhl combines elements of hardcore gangster rap, punk rock, techno and pretty much every other style of music to create their highly unique sound. Brownstuhl, consisting of lyricist, drummer/percussionist, and MC, Matt Brown (aka "Emcee Embee") and guitarist, programmer, engineer and MC, Dan Bremenstuhl (aka "Sample") made a name for themselves and gained much notoriety with the release of their hit debut album 4trackmind in 1998. The record took over three years to complete and upon first listen fans will understand why writing and recording the album was such a lengthy endeavor. It was an ambitious achievement for the young band and contained a multitude of genre mixing that would prove to eventually create what would become Brownstuhl's trademark sound. That trademark sound being that they don't actually have a trademark sound. Not long after the release of 4trackmind one could hear Brownstuhl's bass-heavy beats blaring out the tinted windows of low-riders cruising the California State University Monterey Bay campus on any given day. It was also during this time that the duo performed many large concert festivals including an opening slot for the popular California band, The Uninvited. Brownstuhl was in high demand at many University functions and fans were rabid for the duo each and every Thursday night at the University's open mic night. The group gained a large cult following and to this day many of todays contemporary artists credit Brownstuhl for inspiring their music as well as their lives. Due to make a comeback in 2007 with their follow-up to 4trackmind, Brownstuhl is set to conquer the music world yet again. Ladies and gentlemen, it's time for a movement. A Movement #2.

IMAGINE THE FEELING OF KNOWING YOU "MADE IT" IN THE MUSIC INDUSTRY How would that change your life? Or the life of those around you? I'LL LET YOU KNOW A SECRET; one of the main reasons main stream artist's are so successful is they have a great marketing team on their side. That's why you sometimes see "unknown" artist's with way more talent remain an unknown. They don't have a good marketing team working for them.
