Bio
Two-time CMA award winner, Bruce Bouton, moved to Nashville in 1979. A year later he recorded his first 1 record, “Crying My Heart Out Over You”, with Ricky Skaggs. Since then he has played on thousands of recording sessions and dozens of hit radio records. As a songwriter he has had songs recorded by George Straight,T Graham Brown,Mindy McCready, Garth Books, Glen Campbell, Mark Wills and George Jones. As a publisher he owns Slide Bar music and has had joint ventures with the EMI and Famous Music publishing companies. His production credits include the critically acclaimed “Mamas Hungry Eyes” which was a tribute to Merle Haggard and a fundraiser for Second Harvest Food bank.He has also produced two albums for acclaimed Austrailian Singer/Songwriter, Graeme Conners. He is a member of the CMA, NSAI, ASCAP, AF of M (local 257) and NARAS. He is an alumnus of Leadership music (class of 96) and is the vice president of the RMA International. In 2003 and 2004 he was nominated by the Academy of Country Music as Steel Guitar Player of the Year. He currently resides in Franklin Tennessee with his wife Shelly and their two children. ( A note about the songs) Graeme Conners is a talented Australian Singer/songwriter that met in the early 90's when I was hired to play steel on one of his records. We kept in touch and I later produced two albums on him. "Good on You" was written by Graeme , Myself and Mark McDuff. "Walk this Earth" was written by Monty Lane Allen, Robert Arthur and Myself. It's part of an album I produced with Monty. "Walking to Rockford" was written with Jim Kjmball backstage in Rockford Illinois. ( Current Endeavors) Most of my time is spent in the recording studio playing Steel Guitar, Dobro, or Slide on everything from Songwriter Demo's to Major Label Artist Projects. It's a good life to be able to get up in the morning and hang with my friends and make music. I fill in the blanks with songwriting and independent production.I also play some dates on the road with a talented redhead named Reba. I've got a pro.tools rig at my house where I do overdubs for folks. If you've got tracks that need what I can give, contact me. I'm sure I can help you out. -
