Bruce Myers is a songwriter, singer and musician, born in Bristol, now resident in Nottingham (via Skegness!) . Drawing on a wide range of influences, his considered lyrics and knack for memorable a chorus, has gained him the attention of audiences and the respect of his musical peers. His recordings and live performances, either solo, or with accompanying musicians, take the approach that “the song is the star”.
“Bruce writes great songs that are thought-provoking, funny , sad, merry and controversial” Songwriters Sunday.
“Songwriter who’s songs are known for their unique style, lyrical wit and down to earth unique folksy uniqueness.”
The Maze.
"Myers writes and sings tuneful songs with clever lyrics about varying themes."
Nottingham Evening Post.
"Bruce Myers, familiar to many as organiser of the open mic night at Nottingham's Golden Fleece, will deliver touching numbers that, even when dealing with heartache, are always presented with an inimitable warmth and humour."
Park Hill Live.
Just a thought... if you're free tonight I'm playing at The Running Horse in Nottingham along with Lucy Ward, Dawn Pickering and Tania Holloway! Starts 7.30pm £3 entry! Be great if you can make it! Happy hugs x
Some news for you. T:M:H are through to the Bloodstock Battle Of The Bands FINAL on Saturday the 16th of May at the Rockhouse [formerly First Floor] in Derby!
We are all super excited as it would genuinely be a dream come true for me/us to play Bloodstock but the judges decision is of course heavily dependent on how much of a crowd we draw so we really do need your support more than ever *puppy dog eyes* if you only ever come to one T:M:H gig then please make this the one. even if rock or metal isn't your thing, please come along anyway and support me and my band because it would honestly mean so much. besides its something different and it would be fun to hang out and get messy!
As you are probably aware we are auditioning bass players at the moment (apply within) but our previous bassist Stu is filling in..it is the last time you will see him on stage with us so its going to be a pretty major night for us..would be nice to have you there thanks and muchhh loveth.
Wednesday 18 Mar 2009, 20:00 - Tim & Sam’s Tim & the Sam Band with Tim & Sam + Dog Is Dead (Acoustic)
We are really excited to have this young, up and coming band to play our first event. Here are a few quotes to help desdcribe their music:.... Mark Riley: "Wonderful pastoral music. A refreshing change."..... Huw Stephens: "Beautiful."..... Planet Sound: "Blissed out folk in the manner of Tunng."..... The Guardian: Recommended new music. "Like listening to Sigur Rós, without the worry of deciphering Hopelandic."..... + support in the form of an acoustic set from Nottingham’s own up and coming indie popsters Dog Is Dead
Thanks again for doing the sound for us @ Golden Fleece - really enjoyed the gig... hope we get to work with you again.
Tried to have a listen to your music but it seemed to stop for some reason (I think it's my computer - it keep packing up on me...)but I will endeavour to listen as soon as possible.
Thanks for the excellent sound job you did last nite. Really appreciated it.....and finally we got to meet you too, which is always a bonus. Hope to catch up with you on the circuit soon. love from Northern Quarter
