Featuring music by Skin and Robot club, Survival's new short film, Mine, narrated by Joanna Lumley, tells the story of the remote Dongria Kondh tribe's struggle to protect the mountain they worship as a God.
London-based mining company Vedanta Resources plans a vast open-cast bauxite mine in India's Niyamgiri hills, and the Dongria Kondh know that means the destruction of their forests, their way of life, and their mountain God.
Bruce Parry, star of BBC's ‘Tribe’ and the forthcoming ‘Amazon’, has teamed up with some of music’s legends for a fundraising album for Survival International, human rights organisation for tribal peoples.

Bruce talks about the reasons why he brought together such an astounding group of artists to work on an album in aid of Survival International.
He says "we need to listen to our tribal communities, and we're kind of killing them off. Survival's doing great work trying to stop that and trying to raise awareness.
"So that marriage of the music, the awareness, Survival and hopefully people buying the CD so that they can put something back towards the charity, it all seems like a nice package."
Jason Mraz and Brett Dennen are two musicians on the rise and they got their talents behind a Song for Survival. Hear all about it.
KT Tunstall speaks here about her contribution to the project, called The Hidden Heart.
Yusuf Islam, once known as Cat Stevens, presents Edge of Existence for the Survival album. The song plays in this video as Yusuf tells of his feeling for the tribal peoples.
Skin, formerly of Skunk Anansie, along with Robot Club has put forward an incredibly moving track for the album and explains her views on the importance of the album and the cause.
Bruce's new book, Amazon, tracks his journey down the Amazon, including many moments not seen in the TV programme.

what's up yo!!! My album "Super Fresh" just came out on itunes. Search "Day 1ne" and you'll find it up there. Just wanted to say hello and put the bug in your ear.
Sending you all My Light, Love & Peace for 2009. The Ascension process is about to take a quantum leap. Peace be with you always Brother. Help is on the way ††† Love Derek ♥♥♥
Hey I have an idea ...if you buy the album why not pose with the album and post it in ...then you can do a short film of all the people whose posted it and see how many faces you can "collect" ...just a fun idea
It would be really really good if people could post reviews on iTunes, on Amazon, and on Play. I think people are really influenced by what they read, so if you like the album, tell people. I don't imagine charity albums like this have the marketing budgets that you see kicking into play for the likes of Oasis and Kings of Leon. So I guess it's up to us. Tell people - it's such a good cause, and such a good album too...!
