   About Bruce Scofield
Played bass and guitar in New Jersey bands from 1964 to 1988. At local shows in 64-66 played backup on bass to the Jive Five, The Tymes, Reparata and the Delrons, and Screamin' Jay Hawkins and was runner-up band (to the Doughboys) on Zacherly's Disco Teen battle of the bands show on NY television. With the Ruins from 1966 to 1969 (with Andy Fekete, Billy Shaw, Alan Mansfield, Joe Mavica) covered British Invasion and psychedelic music. Played shows with the Left Banke, Lenny Kaye and the Zoo, and The Looking Glass during this period and recorded two singles. Formed original band Golgotha in 1969 (with Denny Kronemeyer, Ray Bartkowetch, Greg Polgar) and made LP on Jubilee which was never released. Remade much of that album in 1971 at Billy Shaw's studio in Manville and released short run of lps. The song "Something's Moving" is from this period. This album became a collectors item and was pirated in 2004 and is now sold illegally by a rouge English company called Radioactive Records UK. They don't answer my email. See my original myspace page (which doesn't hold mp3's so I had to make this page) - for more details on this situation ---- http://myspace.com/golgotha1969 ---- Played cover tunes in clubs along the NJ shore in the early 70's with The Three Easy Pieces (Jay Helt, Nick DeMarco), and then country rock with Out To Lunch (with Bill Batey) and the Emerald City Band (Betsy Scofield, Denny Kronemeyer and Jake O'Handley). The Pseudo Realists (Brian Catanzaro, Joanne Scofield, Bob Torres, Mike Spillane, Michelle Spadaro, Nancy) played New Wave music from about 1980 to 1987. Released several cassette lps and a record ep titled The Pseudo Realists in 1985. The song "Psychic Attack" is from this ep and "Put Your Mind in a Uniform" was one side of the last single from the group. In Massachusetts formed Saturn and the Outer Planets. First single was "Western Massachusetts/Route 9 Hadley Blues" in 1993 with Joe Eno on drums. Band later included Woody Stoddard, Valerie Vaughan, Edwina Askew, Dave Tully, Ron Cummings, and Phil Dowgeirt over 10 years. In 2000 put out cd Local Space - "If You Live in Amherst" was a demo recording added as bonus track. Today performing with Free Range (Mark Feller, Betsy Scofield) and also with the Side Effects (Jim Bolduc, Mike Hotte, Gary Issod).
