The HISTORY OF BRUNDLEFLY begins in 1997 at a small factory called "Tube-Tech". Matt Tharp, Mark Kreskge, Dave Parker and "Willie James" formed the Rochester band, TONKA, fusing Rock, Metal, Punk, Rap, a lot of frustration and irritation into a giant ball of "Whateverthephuck"...Thier 1st gig was at Angel's Graduation Party. Not long after that, they were playing gigs at venues such as "THE PENNY ARCADE", "THE 'GREAT' HOUSE OF GUITARS", and "MILESTONES"(rip), not to mention playing out of town gigs at the Mumford Pavillion, SUNY Fredonia and a few in Buffalo, opening for bands like NICKEL, SECTION EIGHT, and sometimes CHEESE...(yeah, Ronnie Lickers old band). TONKA later changed thier name to BRUNDLEFLY and recruited some "NEW BLOOD". Paul Kiefer came onboard to replace Dave Parker (Bass) and the band brought in long time friend and fellow guitar player Mark Murray to compliment Matt's style. Then they turned to Doug White at WATCHMEN STUDIOS (also of "Fledgling Death" Fame) in LOCKPORT, NY (check our "FRIENDS") to record an 8 song DEMO CD (which included a hidden track). The Demo was never released (until now) and was later named "What Happened?"
