Apart from having a wide role in the preservation of traditional Drum and Flute playing in his area, passing a long local knowledge of tunes and tradition to the youngsters, Bruno was hugely influenced by other music styles, such as Jazz, Contemporary Portuguese Music and Breton Traditional Music, extensively dedicating an emphatic look to the Irish Traditional Music scene. Flute, Whistle, Bodhran player and composer, Bruno has participated in several projects of Portuguese and Irish music. In 1997 he joined “Grupo de Cordas da Secção de Fado Associação Académica de Coimbra” which he represented in many performances in and out of Portuguese borders Was kindly invited in 1999 by Marsten Bailey, Bouzouki and Guitar player and record producer, to join the band Salamander, that counted with many performances and contributions from Portuguese and foreign musicians. Really crappy weather here in Ireland (well in Derry anyhow) today, and Iona's mother said it was pretty bad in Kerry too, so I'm guessing it was the same right across the country if it was this rotten in the extreme north and the extreme south.
Was it last weekend that you did that big gig in Lisboa that yo were telling me about?
Thanks for the tune Bruno! Sessions are going well and meeting Aiden later on for a tune and a pint. Say a big hello to Marco and Pedro. See you soon! Ruadhrai

Hi good people, I've been speaking to John McSherry who is in a bit of a panic at the moment. He has just returned from a gig in Zaragoza/Spain where his pipes went missing. Could you keep a keen eye out for them and if you have any information regarding their whereabouts please contact him at info@johnmcsherry.com
Below is a description of the pipes:
A full set of African blackwood concert D uilleann pipes made by Dave Williams with a keyless boxwood chanter made by Sean McAloon. The words "Made for John McSherry by Dave Williams, 2000" are engraved on the brass around the stock and one of the tenor regulator keys and mount is broken off.
Also missing are two Overton low whistles (D and F)
