   About Bruno LeFlanchec
Pianist, flautist, arranger and composer with the most diverse jazz, latin, fusion, rock and pop influences. Born in France, September 27th of 1959, Bruno started his musical studies at the age of six with a private tutor. He studied classical piano for a few years, before his encounter with jazz music through his father, led him to experiment with many different wind instruments. He started playing in “Top Forty” bands at the age of 14 and also in a big band that was created and conducted by his father. First on trumpet which he played for 8 years before switching to the flute, though he never stopped playing the piano. He could thus have the opportunity to play with the most prominent French jazz players of the time visiting Reunion Island. He was also part of the legendary group Carrousel. In 1985 Bruno decided to focus entirely on music and went to Berklee College of Music. He did a few semesters and got a 2-year certificate. He then returned to Reunion Island and became the head of a local music school. Three years later he resumed his studies and finally graduated Summa Cum Laude in 1991. This 3 years break from his studies gave him the opportunity to start a career as a composer. He composed jingles for French overseas radio and some other local radio stations as well. In 1992, he moved to Paris where he remained very active as a performer, composer and educator for 7 years. In 1999 he moved to Singapore to be a full time music teacher but soon got introduced to the local scene and produced a jazz CD “Logical Nonsense” with his own compositions and also took part in the band “Bali Lounge” that came to the attention of MTV though a song that he co wrote. ‘Bali Lounge’ was nominated “artist of the month’ on MTV Asia with the song “Something’s Wrong” and was later nominated as “Best Newcomer in Indonesia” for the year 2005! Since then, Bruno Le Flanchec has been taking part in the most diverse musical situations, ranging from straight-ahead jazz to pop-rock, from latin to the most exciting fusion, always keeping versatility as his main focus, not as a financial strategy, but out of the true love and respect he feels for all styles of music to which he has been exposed

Hey Bruno,
Great to hear from you.
You're sounding good.
The tracks are a bit short.
I'd love to hear more.
Looks like you're making some good music and doing well.
I like a diverse combination of activities myself.
Ever get back to Boston?
Ever get to Japan? (I'll be there this coming new year).
I know, not close, but closer than Boston. :-/
Thanks for the shout.
Keep in touch,
~~bp

I suspect you'll enjoy some of my music. Cary Tennis, the infamous Salon. com columnist used the word 'genius' in a review about me. Alas my father and grandmother were already dead so I used the review to wrap fish.
To coin a cliche, these songs rock. (I think you'll also like the 3rd and 6th songs which are gentle and perhaps haunting. 'Ready and Willing' is an acoustic ballad with World Competition winner Frederick Zlotkin on the cello. 'Wise Men Never Say' is a lone electric guitar and voice.)
If you have time please let me know what you think...I'll be forever grateful.
