Los Angeles-based band Brutus Gets The Girl mixes everything from; indie, Spanish rock, shoegaze and synth pop in a way to stir up everyone's interest and curiosity.
Silvano Barba (vocals/guitar), sister Marisol Barba (vocals/keyboards) and long-time friend Joe Spelman (synths/guitar) set out to make songs that are somewhat moody, atmospheric and accessible. Their catchy melodies, electronic bass pulses and distorted guitar echoes will surely stay engraved in your mind.
They have built a loyal and growing following after playing in and around Los Angeles with great reception at local venues like Hotel Cafe, Troubadour, Spaceland, The Echo and The Knitting Factory to name a few. They are on heavy rotation at; Indie 104 FM, isgoodmusic.com internet radio and had featured stories in Pasadena Weekly and Twenty-Something magazines.
Brutus Gets The Girl's debut album “Beautiful Things Await You”, engineered and mastered in Los Angeles by Tommy Dietrick (Brian Jonestown Massacre, Sky Parade) Was mostly recorded live over a period of just two days to maintain a raw fresh energy of Brutus Gets The Girl’s live shows. The album is receiving great feedback from online music stores iTunes, Amazon, Rhapsody and Napster on their album. Their music has often been compared to a blend of New Order, Velvet Underground, The Killers and The Cure with a bilingual twist.
