**The songs that are currently posted are a collaboration with the incredibly talented Alicia Bekeny. I'm working on making a separate page for our collabo's, and then I'll post some of my true solo work again.**
I've been playing music since I was 10. My Mom forced me to take piano lessons. I hated them. I dropped the piano when I took up the trumpet. I got bored with that, and switched to the baritone. Then I realized that wasn't cool, so I learned the drums. My friends started a band, but already had a drummer, so I learned the bass to join. Then I stole my sister's guitar and taught myself power chords. I played punk music. Then I grew out of that, and came back to the piano. Somewhere along the way, I acquired a harmonica, mandolin, and accordian. Throw it all together, and you get what I do now.
My focus primarily is on my band, Seven Second Chances, but from time to time, I like to play solo. I try to keep them separate, although you often may hear 7SC songs if you catch me playing an open mic or solo gig. I just do what I want--what I feel. Music is my way of expressing myself. I really don't mind if you don't like my music. You're entitled to that. But don't get jealous if you girlfriend likes me because I sing sappy songs about love. She's entitled to that as well.
All the songs you hear are most likely the result of me being bored...home recordings. So just so you know, I realize the sound quality sucks...but unless you feel like buying me some righteous studio time, you're just gonna have to deal! :)
QUAGMIRE COLLAGE Oh No So bored with the path again Backs Turned To friends who’ve got their knives in hands So Froze By a heart so cold to touch So Small Then why does it seem to weigh so much?(Changin keys & still offbeat 4,3,2,1..) Chorus: Stepped down into the Quagmire A collage in quicksand Knee-Deep in my life Chained together by a missing link Got outta sync Bad karma’s hitchin’ a ride Good I Was taught wasn’t good enough Stood By Idle when I should’ve run Light My Path all you walking dead Dirt In Mouth, turning over in your bed (Broken promise, forgotten once again) Stepped down into the Quagmire A collage in quicksand, Waist-Deep in my life Chained together with a missing link Got outta sync Bad karma’s hitchin’ a ride Solo: Sands of time are slippin through my mind To see what was Is what I love Stepped outta touch With what made me alive Why can’t you put the fire back in my eyes? Poured Out Scared to tell you all my fears Reached Out Shakin hands with man with covered ears (Blurried vision sees the truth so clear) Stepped down into the Quagmire A collage in quicksand Chest-Deep in my life Chained together by a missing Link Got outta sync Bad karma’s hitchin’ a ride Chorus: Stepped down into the Quagmire A collage in quicksand Neck deep in my life Chained together by a missing link No where to sink, Bad Karma's hitchin a ride
