the flu, sea sickness, nausea, various skin diseases, severe acne, sore throat, runny nose, hold my head under water and pull it out just before i stop kicking, overactive glands of all kinds, tear gas no wait, tear gas, there are certainly more spiders in this house than people, though i suppose that is often the case, zoom, zoom, zoom, zoom.
Singer/songwriter Bryan Lee grew up surrounded by music in the mountain churches of central Colorado. Nestled between the high-country communities of Bailey and Conifer, Lee began his own musical aspirations trying to imitate Garth Brooks in art class in elementary school. He was shunned by many, but was steadfast in his aspirations. At fifteen he left country music behind or country music left him behind, depending on which day you ask him. When he was in high school he just wanted to play rock and roll, but there was only one band in his cow town and he wasn't in it. Now he is busy developing his own unique blend of provoking lyrics and indie melodies, influenced by local and national artists alike.
While Lee's influences are present in his music, he exudes his own personal style of individuality and lyrical wisdom in a combination that captures attention and provokes thought. When asked about his own music, Lee admits that he hasnt tried to classify it in the traditional sense. "Im not very good at describing it," he says. "Its a part of me, necessary to live a life that doesnt consist of raisin bran and light beer." Artist manager, Aaron Doenges, says of Lee, "His music is of a genre that is powerful and simple, uncluttered, full and pure." More recently Bryan has said of his music, "I guess its kinda folky."
Currently, Lee is living in Bailey, CO. Though he is often perplexed at how he ended up back in this one horse town, he likes to think of it as a growing experience.
