Pianist/keyboardist/composer Bryn Roberts lives in New York City. Originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, Roberts studied in Montreal at McGill University. He made a name for himself playing with various Montreal musicians such as Dave Laing, Joe Sullivan, Andre White, Michel Donato and Charlie Biddle, while at the same time continuing his piano studies with noted New York pianist Fred Hersch.

2001 saw the release of Bryn's debut as a leader entitled "Present Tense". The CD featured saxophonist Seamus Blake, vibraphonist Stefan Bauer, bassist Fraser Hollins and Parisian drummer Karl Jannuska. The group toured in Canada including a show as part of the official competition of the Montreal International Jazz Festival. In autumn that year, he also recorded with saxophonist Remi Bolduc on his CD entitled "Renaissance" (Effendi).

Since moving to New York in 2001, Roberts has worked extensively both as a sideman and a leader. He has played at many of New York's prestigious jazz clubs, including the Blue Note, Birdland, Smalls, Fat Cat, the 55 Bar and the Jazz Gallery. He has appeared with many of New York's top jazz musicians, including Seamus Blake, Chris Cheek, Chris Potter, Lage Lund, Victor Lewis, Jochen Ruckert, John Ellis, Rodney Green, Jonathan Blake, Kendrick Scott, Jonathan Kreisberg and vocalist Melba Joyce. Bryn is a member of the acclaimed Alan Ferber Nonet, and has recorded with the group for two Fresh Sound/New Talent releases: "Scenes From An Exit Row" and "The Compass". He has recorded numerous concerts and sessions for the Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) and has toured Canadian jazz festivals with his group featuring Will Vinson on saxophones, Matt Penman on bass and drummer Mark Ferber. His most recent CD is "Ludlow", featuring Seamus Blake, bassist Drew Gress and drummer Mark Ferber on the Fresh Sound/New Talent label.

Since 2006, Bryn has been turning his talents to the world of rock music as well. He is a member of the bands TAXI TAXI; KITES; a keyboardist for KELLY BUCHANAN and a member of the Americana Supergroup THE MADISON SQUARE GARDENERS, all of whom have been playing some pretty big shed gigs in downtown Manhattan island. He has also recently been playing with the southern rock legend KEVN KINNEY (of DRIVIN n' CRYIN), Island/DefJam artist KERLI, NYC rocker L.P., and Warner artist MEAGHAN SMITH.
Bryn is currently playing piano and keyboards with Razor and Tie artist DAR WILLIAMS.
