Bryon Tosoff is a composer/performer/teacher of various genre of music. His interests include jazz, classical, as well as delving in to some fusion, pop and new age styles.
As you see Bryon has been involved in music of all kinds, but his first love is Jazz. His own material has compelling progressions and superb melody lines that are easy to remember and hum along with. Strollin' is one of those tunes that has a catchy melody and hooks you right away.
Bryon also performs with the multi-award nominated band the blues-rock group www.thebluevoodoo.com... and do their originals at the YALE , starlight casino and festivals
Bryon's background in music is varied as he studied the classical piano and theory disciplines in the of U of Toronto Royal Conservatory of Music Program before moving into the blues and rock genre and eventually became interested in the Jazz genres which he has studied and developed his abilities in and offers instruction in this style of music. Some of his teachers during his teen years were Edward J Parker (classical)and Al Wold (jazz)
Studio News
Bryon's piano studio has been established in White Rock BC for 25 years where he has taught jazz and classical piano styles and has also developed his own jazz piano program called JAZSTYLES. He has taught students who have traveled from Taiwan although the majority of his students come from all over the lower mainland of BC including students from Vancouver, Burnaby, Richmond, Coquitlam, New Westminster, Langley, Surrey, White Rock, Hope and nearby Bellingham, Washington State, USA.
He has taught many accredited classically trained Piano Teachers his jazstyles systems. He has also sent his jazstyles piano material to many piano students in various parts of the USA.
Current Events and Projects
Bryon plays jazz piano at Private Parties, Weddings and Restaurants and also sits in with the The BlueVoodoo Blues Band www.thebluevoodoo.com at Festivals and Special Events on occasion and is currently in the development stages of a jazz duo that will be featuring vocals and piano.
Highlights
One his most significant and memorable highlights was In March 2007 when he was in the backing band for Bo Diddley (RIP). Bryon played keyboards along with guitarists Ted Tosoff and Rick Dalgarno of the blue voodoo in backing Bo Diddley at one of his last shows in Mission BC Canada (near Vancouver, home of the Winter Olympics in 2010), it was a great time with the legend and innovator.
