    Big Country (Stuart Adamson, Mark Brzezicki, Tony Butler, Bruce Watson) broke massively worldwide in 1983 with their debut album ‘The Crossing’ , which sold over 3 million copies and earned Big Country 2 Grammy nominations. Their subsequent four albums, ‘Steeltown’ ( Debuted @ no: 1 in 1984), ‘The Seer’ (1986), ‘Peace In Our Time’ (1988) and ‘No Place Like Home’ (1991) were all certified gold on release and took the bands total record sales tally to over five million. ‘Through A Big Country’, featuring all the bands classic hits was released in 1990 and debuted at 5, going on to sell over a million copies, The band released 8 studio albums and 28 singles (4 Top Ten and 8 Top 20) in their 18 year lifespan. They were a legendary live band who could play any size of building and deliver plus they could go .. or after, any band. .. With the unfortunate and untimely death of Stuart Adamson in 2001, Big Country as a working unit, ceased to exist. .. In 2007, after continued pressure from the bands thriving fan base via the official website, the remaining members bowed to the pressure for commemorating the bands 25th anniversary with a series of live concerts, as a 3 three piece. With Bruce Watson taking on all the guitar duties and some of the lead vocals, Tony Butler as lead vocalist and bass player with Mark Brzezicki, on drums and vocals, they performed re-arranged versions of some of the bands greatest hits and popular album tracks, paying homage to their illuminating career and paying respect to there lost colleague. .. Included in the show were new compositions that the 3 piece wrote during rehearsals for the anniversary tour. These tracks were recorded with new producer Pete Brown (son of the legendary sixties star Joe Brown) originally as an experiment. At the same time, the band recorded one of the live shows, released earlier this year entitled ‘Live at the Thekla’ and under the name of Big Country. .. Over 40 minutes of music, the new CD features five new songs and two extended mixes of what was going to be Big Countrys’ first single (You Lift Me Up) in many years . After discussions between the three remaining members, management and the Stuart Adamson Estate, it was decided that the name Big Country would not be used. Hence the title, ‘In Our Name’, by BBW. .. There are no immediate plans for live performances or recordings by BBW or Big Country, but the story may not be over yet. .. BBW – IN OUR NAME .. ..
