Playing and listening to Music, fishing, cold glass of water on a hot summer day, camping, watching football (Sooners & Colts), backpacking in the Rockies, bowling, hanging out with friends, reading good books (just finished Angels & Demons, by Dan Brown), eating traditional Korean food, running, lifting weights, long car trips (I've done plenty), getting together with all my old buddies from Eau Claire, Starbucks, finishing up a hard-days work, biking, friendly games of low-stakes poker, playing ultimate frisbee, history channel.
Music
I'm a musician and I love playing the trumpet. I like to listen to pretty much anything with trumpet in it, but I have other interests as well. I like to play rock, funk, jazz the most, but I pay the bills by playing whatever the Navy tells me to play.
Movies
Favorites: Star Wars (VI - VI), Lord of the Rings, Blues Brothers, Monty Python & the Holy Grail, Van Wilder.
Television
Don't watch much TV.
Books
Angels & Demons by Dan Brown is great! It's the prequel to The DaVinci Code. Read all the Tom Clancy books, those are great too.
Heroes
Bill Adam (one of my trumpet teachers), Brett Favre (quarterback for the Green Bay Packer, if you didn't know), Doc Severisen (one of the all-time great trumpet players).

About me: Hey everybody!
I've recently been stationed in Norfolk, VA after joining the Navy this past February. Love my job so far, the best job in the Navy. Just moved into an apartment about one block from the beach and can't wait to deck it out with new furniture and such. Been getting familiar with the Hampton Roads area and figuring out where to hang out, but always looking for more places to go and people to meet.
I'm originally from Pennsylvania, but moved to Indiana in middle school. Went to college in Wisconsin and Oklahoma, lived in Ohio for 2 summers andVirginia for 3. When the Navy asked me where I would like to be stationed for my first tour I requested Japan which is the furthest base from home. Naturally, Uncle Sam sent me to Norfolk. I've also been to Mexico, Canada and South Korea.
Not much going on out here except all the normal hoo-haa. Congrats on gettin' hithed!! Keep your fingers crossed for me this September. I think I'll have a really good chance of picking up E-5...We'll see...
Brandon! What's up bud? I'm on deployment and currently relaxing in Spain at one of the MWR centers. I got your poker invite while I was driving home to Ohio for my 4 day pre-deployment leave period. I made E-5 my first time up this past December and will getting a place as soon as I return to Norfolk. There's a chance I may move to Australia for a Cross-Decking program though in April which will cut dpeloyment short. I'll keep in touch over the deployment. My underway email is morrisr@ussnorfolk.navy.mil
DUDE!!!!!! Congrats a million times for promoting on your first test!!!!!! That's so awesome Brandon!!!!!!!
I hope everything else is going well for you.
Dude, it did not occur to me to congratulate you on your Colts winning the Super Bowl...so, congrats.
Also, is your official rank, "musician third class?"
I've only now recovered from my Bears losing the Super Bowl, and now I can congratulate you and your Colts on the big win. I hope all is well in Norfolk!
