bside is the name I use for any and all electronic things that I do.
I also drum/programme for Resonaxis and I'm the lead singer for the Frank Zappa tribute act,
Petulant Frenzy.
Ive been involved in electronic music since about 1990 when I attended my first rave (Levitation). I had listened to various electronic stuff before then (Kraftwerk and Yello etc) but hadnt really seen it as something I could do.
After getting right into the rave scene, I wanted to be involved somehow straight away. I started collecting vinyl, DJing and fooling about with various music making programs.
Since then I have DJ'd at various parties and raves around Sydney, organised a few myself and had my music played out - mostly by me :).
The Sydney scene sometime seems so up its own arse that its hard to get gigs if you're not already established - especially if you dont stick to the one style.
I make house, techno, drum and bass and trip hoppy stuff under the bside name and remix all comers. Sometimes I think my remixes turn out better than my original productions. Have a listen to the tracks on this page and make up your own mind.
