Little is known about Darkness, the villain of the film, except that he is sickishly skilled in the art of killing. He comes into town mid-murder spree and meets up with local serial murderer and recent escapee from the Cunningham Mental Institution, "Crazy" Mary Black, to wreak havoc on the small town of Carpenter.
