Music
I love all kinds of music from Motown to Hicktown. You'll have a hard time finding music I don't like,
It also depends on my mood on what music I'll listen to, country is my favorite and what I own the most of, Johnny Cash and Merle Haggard to the new stuff, it's all good. I hope you'll join me sometime on 98-7 KUPL, work days from 10:00 am- 2:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Speaking of music here's some pics from the 41st Annual CMA Awards 2007 Show backstage with Bubba in Nashville!
Movies
I can watch a comedy over and over; "Without a Paddle" is one of favorites, the cave scene cracks me up every time. "End of the Spear" is a great inspirational movie and you wanna see a grown man cry, press play on "Pay It Forward". Oh I almost forgot my acting debut in the 20th Century Fox film with Dennis Quid “Come See the Paradise”, I’m really in it several times, just look for the guy carrying the chairs in the social club in the first 15 minutes.
Television
History Channel, CMT, GAC, News & documentary shows.
Books
I read the Bible daily, PMA books (positive mental attitude) and currently reading "It's All About Him" by Denise Jackson, Mrs. Alan Jackson and Jesus Freaks by DC Talk.
Heroes
I've met many people from President Jimmy Carter to football legend Dan Marino and the greatest of them all is my Mom, she raised 6 kids on her own and worked three jobs to put food on the table, she had to be my mother and my father and of course she's my Hero!
My sister Sandy is in Heaven now, she was a wonderful person who always thought more of others than herself, she was the most positive person, even when her illness was taking its toll on her, she raged on with such courage and spirit that you couldn’t ignore what a gift her life was to anyone who was fortunate to cross her path.
I will always miss her and I know that we’ll be together again, in the meantime a large piece of my heart is gone, and I feel that it was my gift to her as reassurance of my love and that someday I will be with my beloved sister again.
About me: I was born in Prineville, Oregon, raised in Portland, Oregon, I went to Sunnyside and Buckman grade schools, graduated from Benson Polytechnic High School majoring in Radio Communications of course; I also attended Portland State University and Clackamas Community College. It's hard to believe that I've actually grown up on the air in Portland; my first on air radio gig was at 62 KGW at age of 14, yes 14! good thing I owned a schwin stingray bike with a lime green banana seat and sissy bar back then or I would have never made it to work......
I'm a spiritual person who has been filled with the spirit of Aloha and has a love for God, I'm not a preachy person, but would only hope that one would take the time to see what's in my heart. Van Zant recently told me "Some people wear a cross around their neck because it's cool and a fashion statement, we wear it because Jesus died for us," nuff said...... The radio business can sometimes take you from state to state, the old joke is that "DJ's don't own homes, just trailers!” but I've worked hard to stay in Portland close to my family and friends.

Hi "Bubba." I'm leaving for the Navy on Monday (April 27th); 2 days after my birthday. I was originally supposed to be leaving on July 29th. I'm going to miss being able to hear you on KUPL when I'm gone.
I do not know this dog! But he is too cute to not share! (he's been in some emails zipping around). I bet HE CAN TALK! but, if not, who cares? Cuz he smiles so pretty! ha!
Wishing you a wonderful birthday! Hope your day is a joyous time to reflect on what you have, not what you missed out on. I believe we all need to a reminder like that every once in awhile, especially now a days. God Bless YOU!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!! (I sent Jon an email of your "hook", and he thought it sounded good! I'll let you know if anything develops..!) Keep celebrating!!! Happy Birthday from Ron & I!
