About me:
My name is Gregory Alan Wade, however I prefer my nickname "Bubba". I am the eldest of Jack and Patsy K's four children, which include my brothers Michael Ray and Jack Garth along with my sister Terri Kay. I was raised a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints - Mormon. I was ordained an Elder in the priesthood and though I still have very strong beliefs, I have been inactive since the late 80's. I grew up and attended school in and around San Diego County, California, with a brief time going to school in Alberta Canada while in second grade. I was an average student who did quite well at playing football. During my senior year, several local newspapers included me in articles written about my football achievements for Southwest High School. In High School my most inspirational teachers were, Mr. Raue for Art and Coach Arciga for Football. My most painful memory is December 16, 1975 and the loss of a very close friend "Gregg Cline" who was stabbed to death after dropping me at home and returning to school after a wrestling match we attended together. Gregg was and remains a great inspiration to me on conquering obstacles life throws your way. I miss him very Much... On November 12, 1977 I married Catherine Lee Williams, which ended in divorce in 1987, although the marriage ultimately ended, we have two beautiful children. I could not imagine life without Amanda Lee, twenty-eight and Joshua Alan, twenty-six. My daughter Mandy has provided me two beautiful grandsons, Noah age one, Riley age ten and granddaughter McKenna. However, because my daughters growing family lives near Seattle and I have not had the privilege to meet her new husband Chris Huson or my new grandson Noah. I must wait for the day with great anticipation when I shall once again see Riley and meet for the first time baby Noah. I am very happy that my daughter has found someone to love, comfort, and protect her as I had always hoped she would. I am very, very proud of the young woman and mother she has become. I have great hopes that one day my son Josh develop a relationship with our Heavenly Father and through his son Jesus Christ forgiveness and peace for his soul. Friends would say that despite my intimidating “Outlaw Biker” outward appearance, I am a "Big Teddy Bear" with a great sense of humor and healthy outlook on life. I am someone that takes life’s pitfalls in stride. I try to do all I can to help people less fortunate than me. Life has taught me it is not what you have, but what you do with the things you have to help others that count in the end. My favorite place to take someone is riding my 1984 FXWG Harley Davidson through the beautiful landscapes of Alaska; I cannot imagine a more beautiful place on earth. I have lived and worked in several places over the past 30 years… Beginning with my enlistment in the United States Air Force as a Security Policeman took me to Lackland AFB in San Antonio, Texas and Malmstrom AFB in Great Falls, Montana. I attended Miramar Police Academy (832 P.C.) as a State Humane Officer for the San Diego S.P.C.A. Though I love animals, I just did not see my life writing tickets for pet infractions or felony pet offenses over the next twenty years. I left California and moved to Silverdale, Washington, where I worked for Pan Am World Services at the Submarine Base Bangor as SUB-BASE Police. I quickly became bored with handing out traffic tickets and responding to false alarms so I got a job at Bremerton Concrete as a welder. Boy did I B.S. my way into that job! I had never welded before and by checking a book out from the local library. Soon I was proficient enough that was elevated to primary welder called upon for repairing and fabricating equipment for Bremerton Concrete. However, I found myself feeling bored and in need of a change. I left welding to work full-time as a Bounty Hunter for Anytime, Arnold's and Pioneer Bail Bonds in Port Orchard and Tacoma, Washington. Wow! Now this job was full of excitement and anything but boring. I had more than a few hair-raising adventures seeking fugitives on the run. During this time I married Tina Tyree Crader after 3 years of our on again off again, love to hate one another relationship finally went separate ways... I am happy to say we been happily married living in separate states for 20 years! LOL Today we remain good friends... After my father's death in September 1991 and years of getting beat with pipes and chairs, or stabbed I decided to try something tame like commercial long line and crab fishing in Alaska where I worked on several boats. On my time off I worked as a deckhand/cook for Arctic Tug and Barge and several other various jobs to include starting my own business selling roses in the local bars (slogan given me by "Monty" of the Anchorage "Hells Angels" was "Buy a Rose from Bubba or he'll kill ya!"). After several fun filled and most of the time profitable years, in 1994, I had enough money put aside, that I decided to try going another adventure of working for myself. I bought my first of three tow trucks and started Red Baron Towing. I later changed the name to Alpine Towing, because alphabetically I would have a better chance of a customer contacting me before another towing outfit. My business slogan was “we don’t want your arms or legs, just your tows.” I had a great time and put in a lot of hard work and long hours building my business. After surviving a dreadful family crisis and nearly losing everything but my FXWG Harley Davidson. I had to do some serious re-accessing of my life choices of the past 20 odd years and my involvement in drug dealings affect on myself and those around me lives. It was not a pleasant realization and the depression from my guilt was horrible. I had just given up, but thanks to my landlady Loreta Smith, age ninety-two, and her belief in me, and her generosity in paying my tuition, I have now started on my newest adventure. September 1, 2006 I completed the Certified Computer Aided Drafting Associates program and as I love to draw, drafting was a great fit. Which lead me to my first job in my newest stage in my life on December 14, 2006 as a Photogrammetric Tech with Aero-Metric Inc. of Anchorage, AK. Unfortunately I got laid off September 4, 2009 as a result of the changes in our economy and find once again at a crossroads. I decided perhaps it was time to return back to someone who has always been there even though I have not always acknowledged is presence… our Father in Heaven. I have never denied the truth of his gospel nor my testimony I have that God lives, that Jesus Christ is our Savior and that Joseph Smith was his Prophet and I have started attending the LDS Church once again. I am praying and seeking our Fathers guidance in my next great adventure… So stay tuned! In the meantime I have been very busy filling my time over the past year as a cartoonist and have a website where you can see and purchase some of my uniquely tasteless works! http://www.zazzle.com/bubbacartoon
